2. Precautions for visiting Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station

●Identity Verification
  • Following Identifications will be used to verify the identity of each visitor.

    Passport

  • The identities of all visitors will be checked on the day of your visit. Please bring with you the form of identification that you have noted on the application form (only original IDs are acceptable). Please be aware that we will take a photocopy of your ID.
  • If you forget your ID on the day of your visit, we will not be able to confirm your identity and you will not be allowed onto the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station site.
● Notes about photography/videography equipment
  • You are prohibited from bringing any type of device that has camera functions, such as mobile phones or smartphones, on-site.
●Clothing

Please make sure you wear long-sleeved shirts and long trousers.

  • This is to prevent any exposed body parts from being contaminated by radioactive substances. Therefore, anyone wearing short-sleeved shirts, skirts, pre-ripped jeans or sandals, etc., shall not be allowed to enter the power station.
  • Please wear socks and shoes that have flat soles (you are prohibited from wearing sandals, wooden sandals, or heeled shoes). Depending on the route you will be taking during your visit it may be better to wear thick socks.
●Physical health considerations
  • Please let us know in advance if anyone in your party has undergone radiation therapy, such as RI drips, etc., at a medical institution within the past six months because this may cause a false detection during the contamination scan due to the effects of the drip agent staying in the body.
  • If you have any physical ailments, etc. that need to be taken into consideration during your visit, such as a heart pacer, please let us know in advance.
  • Pregnant women are not allowed to visit.
